Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek: HMML Repository

Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek

The Duchess Anna Amalia Library is listed as a World Heritage Site. In 2004, it was severely damaged and much of the early printed collection lost in a major fire. One small consolation was the fact that the manuscript collection was not in the building at the time. HMML filmed c. 500 manuscripts and fragments including volumes from monasteries in Erfurt: the Carthusian house of Salvatorberg and the Benedictine abbey of St. Peter and Paul.
