Dabra Asabot Monastery: HMML Repository
Dabra Asabot Monastery
This monastery was founded by the venerated saint abba Samuel, perhaps during the 14th century. It was enriched by donations from Emperor Dawit II. It was destroyed in the 16th century by Aḥmad b. Ibrāhīm al-Gāzī and was re-established by Empress Zawditu in 1911. It was destroyed again by the Italians and was restored by Emperor Ḫāyla Śellāsē.
