Diözesanbibliothek St. Pölten: HMML Repository

Diözesanbibliothek St. Pölten

In Sankt Pölten, 25 miles west of Vienna, a monastery was founded by the Benedictines in the 8th c. From the 11th c. until its dissolution in 1782 the monastery was in the charge of the Augustinian Canons Regular. The original monastic library is now a diocesan library, where HMML microfilmed 117 manuscripts dating from the 12th to the 17th c. (chiefly dated before 1500).
