Stift Geras. Bibliothek: HMML Repository
Stift Geras. Bibliothek
Located on the Austrian-Czech border, the Premonstratensian Abbey of Geras was founded c. 1150. Due in part to its location, the Abbey has suffered numerous devastations, in particular during the Thirty Years War, when the library was burned down (1620). The collection today consists of six manuscripts from the former priory of Pernegg. These date from the 14th to the 16th c.
