Matenadaran Mkhitʻareantsʻ i Vienna
The Mechitarist Order of Armenian Benedictines was established in 1701 by Mechitar of Sebaste. Their monastery in Vienna was founded in 1810, and there the Mechitarists have collected in a relatively short time an impressive library of Armenian and related materials. This large collection contains manuscripts dating from the 9th to the 19th c., 1,181 of which were filmed by HMML.
