Wayne Torborg is the Director of Digital Collections & Imaging, a position he has held since he joined HMML in 2004. His team is responsible for storage, archiving, and backup of all digital data; preparing images for the online Reading Room; and database support for its MySQL server and HMML’s legacy database. In addition, he supervises all digitization projects and serves as part of the editorial team for HMML’s print and online publications. His role finds him working with a number of internal teams, including manuscript cataloging, digital platform development, field operations directors, and advancement.

Before joining HMML, Torborg produced traditional and digital photography for advertising and marketing clients through his own business and with Colormax, Paynesville, MN. He also worked on the digitization of The Saint John’s Bible. He holds a BS in Mass Communications from St. Cloud State University.
