Mariam Magdy Clark
Mariam Magdy-Clark joined the staff at HMML in 2024 as Assistant Metadata Librarian. Magdy-Clark holds a BA in Art History & Digital Humanities from UCLA, and an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
Prior to joining HMML, Magdy-Clark worked at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center - Aiso Library, where she cataloged materials in various foreign languages and performed a range of reference and circulation duties. She was also a Getty Marrow Undergraduate Intern within the Collection Information & Access department at the J. Paul Getty Museum, where she collaborated on data cleanup projects, enhanced controlled vocabularies, and supported the use of the collections management software, The Museum System.
Mariam is fluent is English, Spanish, and Arabic. She also studied Italian and has an interest in Latin.
What she enjoys most about her work: “Being a part of the larger effort to share knowledge and preserve our collective cultural heritage with the world is incredibly fulfilling. I'm always learning something new along the way.”
