Mary Hoppe
Mary Hoppe is the Digital Projects Assistant, a role where she provides accessible digital collections to HMML’s online users across the globe, especially in support of HMML’s Eastern Christian manuscript collection. She works with both internal and external groups fulfilling digital requests while managing and maintaining archival storage and retrieval systems.
Hoppe came to HMML in 2011. Previously, she was a financial software specialist for Wolters Kluwer and a systems librarian for the Great River Regional Library (GRRL), both in St. Cloud. At GRRL she supported the transition from paper to automated systems across 31 communities. Hoppe holds a BA in English from St. Cloud State University and a BA in German, Secondary Education, and Coaching from the College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph, MN.
What she finds interesting about her work: “It’s extraordinary how digitization allows the ability to enhance the image and see the fine detail not easily viewed in the original piece. There are constant surprises and connections.”
